New Year, New Us. Sort Of.

Written by

It’s 2019, and somehow that arbitrary change from 2018 is supposed to make a difference in people’s lives. If you are one of those people that have successfully made a positive change in our life, then all power to you.  For the rest of us, change is inevitible, like it or not!

Here at Multitool.org we have made a change, and one that we hope will continue. It started with a server move around Christmas- our old server hosting company (the people that own the computers that Multitool.org lives in), a company known as Prime Relay has closed its doors, and I would like to take this time to thank them yet again for all their years of service to Multitool.org and its members.

While I have never had a complaint about the service we had from PR (it was exemplary), technology has changed since, and our new server is faster with upgraded software and hardware. This means that we are running faster and smoother than ever before, which is a very good thing.  For those keeping track, this is our 4th host in (almost) 13 years, and we have been with PR since 2012, making them our longest running host to date.

Unfortunately, it has not been without its price.  The Multitool.org Store unfortunately did not make the move intact and has been shut down as a result.  We are taking the opportunity to test new software and rebuild it from the ground up, but as of now there is no word on when it will be reactivated.  Stay tuned though, as any news will be posted here and on the forums.

There also may be some other changes around here over the coming months, as we optimize the software (or change it outright) to better serve all of you.  What I guarantee won't change is the content, except to add more reviews, more adventures, more how-to's and more of the things that you have come to know and love from Multitool.org.  As we get closer to our 13th Anniversary we are stronger than ever, and, as long as I am at the helm, Multitool.org will continue to grow, but always will maintain the same casual, fun and informative atmosphere we have always had.ut its price. The Multitool.org Store unfortunately did not make the move intact and has been shut down as a result. We are taking the opportunity to test new software and rebuild it from the ground up, but as of now there is no word on when it will be reactivated.
